Project Background & Operational Context

The Pooled Fund 2025, executed by Jano Seba Kendra (JSK) with the generous support of BRAC, targeted vulnerable Rohingya refugee families in Camp-05 (Block-C, Sub Blocks C-4 and C-5). The project reached 343 families and focused on improving hygiene, sanitation, and overall community well-being through a comprehensive range of activities. These included bathing and toilet repair, tube-well maintenance, toilet desludging, household waste collection, camp cleaning campaigns, hygiene awareness sessions, as well as celebrations of national and international days to promote social cohesion. By combining essential infrastructure repairs with community engagement and awareness initiatives, JSK strengthened resilience, improved public health, and fostered a safer, cleaner environment for the refugee population. Through the dedicated efforts of JSK and the support of BRAC, the project enhanced the quality of life, dignity, and safety of hundreds of vulnerable families in the camp.

“The repaired toilets and daily cleaning campaigns have transformed our block into a safer and much cleaner living space.”

— Fatema Khatun, Camp-05 Block-C Resident
