Project Background & Operational Context

Access to safe and clean water is a fundamental necessity, and Jano Seba Kendra (JSK) has been dedicated to ensuring this through the Water Well Repair and Maintenance Project. Targeting both Rohingya refugee camps and surrounding Bangladeshi host communities, the project focuses on repairing and maintaining 26 mega water networks and 175 deep tube-wells, ensuring a continuous supply of safe water. These water points collectively meet the daily needs of approximately 15,000 families, helping prevent waterborne diseases and improving overall community health and hygiene. By addressing technical issues promptly and enhancing water accessibility, JSK enables children and adults alike to access clean water for drinking, cooking, and sanitation. Through the tireless efforts of JSK’s field teams and collaboration with local communities, this initiative strengthens resilience, promotes public health, and supports sustainable living conditions for some of the most vulnerable populations in Cox’s Bazar and nearby areas.

“Having reliable water taps right near our shelters prevents waterborne illnesses and keeps our children healthy.”
